Cowrie Capital Partners (CCP) is setting up a $20M Cowrie Fund I, a Pan-African Venture Fund with a gender-lens focus. 

 

The Fund targets women-owned, women-led, and gender-diverse teams and value chain actors.

 

The Fund collaborates with the Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum (AWIEF), a leading women entrepreneurship platform in Africa. 

 

AWIEF has a track record of training, mentoring and growing women SME and start-up founders, and has developed the flagship AWIEF Growth Accelerator since 2017.

 

AWIEF Growth Accelerator supports growth-stage women-owned and women-led businesses. The fund is connected to AWIEF Growth Accelerator for access to exclusive deal flow, unique pre- and post-investment technical assistance, and access to high-level expert network of advisors.

 

AWIEF has successfully mobilised funding and partnerships with global and reputable development and corporate institutions such as USAID, African Development Bank (AfDB), European Commission, GIZ, Nedbank and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
